Why you’ll love this dairy free cold foam
Ok, I know. I’m late to the game. It’s not because I don’t care, I just don’t get treat myself to coffee very often, so it took me a while to come around to the idea of cold foam.
I’ve made super-quick cheater versions of this before using just dairy free milk, but this time I’ve added heavy whipping cream alternative to the mix and it makes a world of difference.
Plus, this method allows you to make a sweetened batch that will keep in the fridge for ____. Perfect for quick mornings or having friends over for coffee.

We recently upgraded our coffee bar with a Breville Barista Impress Touch and we absolutely love it!
If you’re making dairy free coffee, it gives you option for alternative milk and there are even settings for cold coffee drinks!

Ingredient notes:
- Dairy free milk – Any dairy free milk will work here. We typically use oat or flax milk for stuff like this, but whatever you like is great. Just make sure it’s unsweetened and plain to get the most out of it.
- Dairy free whipping cream alternative – I don’t use this product a ton, but when I do it really works wonders. We recently started buying the Aldi brand and it’s worked great, but there are quite a few on the market. If you don’t want to use this or can’t find it, make sure you’re using a barista version of your favorite dairy free milk because it will froth better.
- Simple syrup – This is where you can have the most fun. You can use a basic simple syrup or flavored ones to make your drinks endlessly customizable.
Making changes to a recipe can result in recipe failure. Any substitutions listed are simple changes that I believe will work in this recipe, but results are not guaranteed.

Melissa’s tips & tricks
- Switch up your flavors! Use some pumpkin spice syrup or gingerbread syrup for a festive holiday treat. Or, try a blueberry syrup for a fruit twist! The possibilities are endless.
- Make it ahead of time – Feel free to make a double batch and froth what you need as you go. You really only need about 2 tablespoons will froth up to give you enough for a single coffee.

My milk frother
There are tons of milk frothers on the market, and they all work pretty well, but I’ve had this one from Aerolatte for years and it’s never let me down.
