Vegan Queso

Made with only three ingredients, this vegan queso recipe couldn’t be easier. It’s one of our favorite late night snacks, and I know you’ll love it. Serve with your tortilla chips for a quick snack or as a side with your favorite tacos.

What I love about this vegan queso

This dairy free queso recipe is inspired by traditional Velveeta cheese dip, and it might just be the ultimate dairy free hack. It’s honestly so simple that I don’t even consider it a recipe, but I knew I had to share it with you.

We make it with store-bought pico de gallo, fresh cilantro and Daiya deluxe cheese sauce. We usually have pico and cilantro on hand for topping our favorite ground chicken tacos and scrambled eggs, and we almost always have the cheese sauce in our pantry.

I know the Daiya cheese sauce is a weird ingredient, and comes in little squeeze pouches, but if you look at the ingredients, it’s really not much different than regular dairy free cheese. Plus, it’s super convenient and pantry-friendly so we almost always have it.

Here’s what you’ll need to make dairy free queso

A bunch of cilantro, a box of daiya dairy free cheeze sauce and a small container of pico de gallo all arranged in a vertical line.

How to make this vegan queso recipe

Microwave cheeze pouches. You will want to do this in a bowl of warm water for 30 second increments. This will help prevent the cheeze sauce from becoming dried out. Remove the pouches from the water and squeeze into a bowl.

Stir in your pico de gallo and cilantro. You should serve this right away while the cheese is nice and warm. Garnish with more pico de gallo and cilantro. Serve with tortilla chips.
