Thursday Things: Summer’s Almost Over

It’s hard to believe that summer’s almost over. I feel like it was just yesterday…

Chelsea's Bachelorette PartyChelsea's Bachelorette Brunch

It’s hard to believe that summer’s almost over. I feel like it was just yesterday that we left France for Canada, and time has really flown since then. I can’t wait for the cold weather and all the other great things that come with fall, but I’m a little sad that my time here is almost over.

Last weekend was my best friend Chelsea’s bachelorette party. We spent the night in Milwaukee (where she lives) and went out for dinner at Swig. The food we had was amazing and I can’t wait to go back next time I’m there. After that we went out for drinks downtown and back to the hotel where we continued our festivities. To cap it all off, most of us went out to brunch the next morning at the bride’s favorite brunch spot. It was a total blast and I had so much fun celebrating with her and all the girls there. I can’t wait for the wedding now!

kazakh cup 2

I guess it’s just a month for big things, but my husband and his team won the Kazakh Cup on Sunday night! It’s a tournament between all the teams in the Kazakh hockey league, and it was going on all last week. I’m so proud of him – especially since his shootout goal allowed the team to stay in the game and get the win. He’s been out with the team celebrating now for the past two days and I really wish I could be there to celebrate with him. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come for the team in the rest of the season.

new hangers

About a week ago, I bought all new hangers. I guess we didn’t really need them right now, but I had a credit to Bed, Bath & Beyond (plus I used their coupons that never expire) and we will eventually need them. So now we have 100 new hangers. They’re the Real Simple slimline hangers. The kind with the velvet-y material that aren’t supposed to give your clothes dents. I’m in love with them – if you can be in love with hangers that is. They make my closet look super organized even though its exactly the same as it was before. I can’t believe the difference it made.

Design the Life You Love blogged about my Chinese Chicken and Broccoli. She mentioned that the recipe could easily be double, and after making it again recently, I totally agree! I absolutely love hearing what readers and other blogs think about the recipes I create here, and I’m so glad this one has been such a hit. Thanks for mentioning me Jenna!
