Easy Garlic Rice Recipe

Tired of boring rice? Try this simple garlic rice recipe for a flavorful side dish to pair with all your favorite main dishes. This easy rice recipe is a family favorite in our house, and it requires very effort.


  • 1 1/2 cups jasmine rice

  • 3 cups water

  • 34 garlic cloves, smashed and peeled

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or vegan butter)

  • Pinch of coarse salt


  1. Combine rice, water, garlic and olive oil in a large saucepan. Season with a pinch of coarse salt.
  2. Cover the pot and bring to a boil. Immediately reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and allow the rice to absorb any remaining liquid. This should take about 10 – 15 minutes.
  4. Fluff rice with a fork before serving.
