Why I love this Italian dressing recipe

Salad dressings can make or break a salad and a homemade dressing, no matter how simple it is, is worth the extra effort. It makes such a difference that we have pretty much stopped buy salad dressing all together (with the exception of a few bottled favorites).

This creamy Italian dressing is the best because it’s naturally dairy free, and still super creamy and flavorful. It’s perfect for our favorite Italian chopped salad or for a side salad to serve with any of your favorite dinners.

FAQ’s and tips for making homemade Italian dressing

How long does homemade Italian dressing last?

This creamy Italian dressing is best used within the week. I wouldn’t let it last too long simply because fresh is always best.

This recipe is not vegan because mayo is made with eggs, however, you could switch it out for vegan mayo and make the recipe vegan with that simple little switch.

Can you freeze this Italian dressing recipe?

I highly recommend that you don’t. It won’t be pretty, smooth, or anything like what you’ve come to enjoy. Instead, make a half batch if you don’t think you can enjoy a full one before it’s no longer good. Then you won’t have nearly as much waste on your hands.

  1. Verifying ingredients…above says: 1/2 cup tablespoons olive oil.

Is this 1/2 cup or 1/2 tablespoon

    Thanks for verification!!

  2. Where is the “dairy free” creamy Italian dressing recipe??? I have scoured the entire site and only find using mayo. Disappointed!!!

    1. Sorry, but mayo is made from eggs and eggs come from chickens (not milk), so they’re completely dairy free.
