Why you’ll love this banana berry smoothie
I started making this smoothie a long time ago. Back when we could still have milk and yogurt and we didn’t have a care in the world.
It’s a simple, creamy smoothie without much added sugar. You can customize it with your favorite yogurt (sweetened or unsweetened), and you will get a delicious smoothie.

Making changes to a recipe can result in recipe failure. Any substitutions listed below are simple changes that I believe will work in this recipe, but results are not guaranteed.
- Dairy free yogurt – Lately, we’ve been loving So Delicious coconut yogurt. It isn’t as thick as some other brands, but I prefer the texture and the available less-sugar options.
- Dairy free milk – We almost always choose unsweetened, plain dairy free milk – typically almond or oat, but we’ve also been loving flax milk for it’s neutral flavor. I even used to make this recipe with cow’s milk and dairy yogurt. Do whatever works for you. No judgement here.
- Frozen fruit – Feel free to swap your frozen berries for other types of fruit. Use what you have.
